Keeping our Guests Safe

Our Corona Virus Risk Assessment

Please see below the measures we are taking to ensure the safety of our guests and ourselves during the Corona Virus outbreak:

Hand washing

We will be washing our hands regularly and encourage our guests to do the same.
Hand washing facilities with ‘Notes of Northumberland’ handwash and water are provided in each room’s bathroom. Anti-bacterial hand wash will also be provided.
Hand sanitiser is provided in the entrance hall, bar area and dining room.

Cleaning in Common Areas

We are regularly cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces. These include door knobs, light switches, hand rails etc.

Social Distancing

The house interior is large enough to support social distancing if guests prefer.
Digital payments will be preferred to reduce cash handling. Hand sanitiser will be available and the card machine will be wiped after each use.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Rooms are thoroughly cleaned before guest arrival following a comprehensive cleaning regime which you can see on request.
Objects and surfaces that are touched regularly (such as door handles, light switches and remote controls) will be disinfected daily.

Food Preparation and Service

All staff wash their hands regularly when preparing food.
All crockery and cutlery is washed on a dishwasher hot cycle.
Our hospitality trays are fully wiped down using antiseptic cleaning products and clean items added each day of your stay.

Laundry

Our bed linen is professionally laundered off-site.
Towels, tablecloths and napkins are washed on a hot washing machine cycle.

Procedure in case of outbreak

If guests are showing symptoms (a high temperature, new continuous cough or loss of taste and/or smell) before arrival we ask that you cancel your visit. Deposits will be transferrable or refundable in this instance.
If guests begin to experience symptoms during their stay or are advised that they should advise us as soon as possible. If you do have to stay the standard tariff will apply depending on stay duration.
If you experience acute symptoms or have breathing difficulties, you should seek medical help immediately. Advice regarding the best way to do this will be kept updated in the room information book.
Following a suspected case the room and common areas will be deep cleaned.
